Tudor townhouse located on the Strand, next to Somerset House (and later Leicester/Essex House).
Granted to Thomas Seymour in 1545 by Henry VIII, and named 'Seymour Place'.
Residence when Jane Grey joined his household as his ward.
Following Seymour's execution in 1549, house sold to Earl of Arundel - was renamed as 'Arundel Place',

29 Nov 1545 - THOMAS SEYMOUR granted the lease of 'Hampton Place' by Henry VIII; renames property 'Seymour Place' and starts rebuilding/modernisation work.
Feb 1547 - JANE GREY joins THOMAS SEYMOUR's household at Seymour Place, as his ward.
c.May 1547 - Secret marriage of THOMAS SEYMOUR and KATHERINE PARR; Katherine starts spending time at Seymour Place, as does 'Lady Elizabeth' (later Elizabeth I) who was in her household at Chelsea at the time.
Jun 1548 - THOMAS SEYMOUR's and KATHERINE PARR's households move to Sudeley Castle, Gloucestershire, to prepare for birth of child.
05 Sep 1548 - Death of KATHERINE PARR at Sudeley Castle; disbandment of household with JANE GREY initially returning to parents at Bradgate House, Leicestershire.
Oct 1548 - THOMAS SEYMOUR return to Seymour Place; is shortly joined by JANE GREY who rejoins his household.
17 Jan 1549 - Arrest of THOMAS SEYMOUR from Seymour Place on charges of treason; JANE GREY known to have been present, along with father HENRY GREY and uncle Thomas Grey. Set off from Seymour Place accompanied by Thomas Grey to Westminster, and then taken to Tower of London.
05 Mar 1549 - Parliamentary Act of Attainder found THOMAS SEYMOUR guilty of charges of treason without a trial, and was sentenced to death; property, including Seymour Place, was seized by the cron.
20 Mar 1549 - Execution of THOMAS SEYMOUR at Tower Hill.
Aft. Mar 1549 - Seymour Place is sold to Henry Fitzalan, 12th Earl of Arundel; renames property 'Arundel House'.
