Aft. Aug 1511 - Following execution of father EDMUND DUDLEY, JOHN DUDLEY enters Guildford household, as ward of Edward Guildford, where he spends significant part of his childhood.
c.1525 - Marriage of JOHN DUDLEY and JANE GUILDFORD.
1534 - Death of father Sir Edward Guildford; began successful chancery claim to inherit (over cousin John Guildford), with support from Thomas Cromwell (was in possession of manor by 1537 - "28 HEN VIII").
11 Nov 1537 - Part of JANE SEYMOUR's funeral procession from Hampton Court Palace, with burial in St George's Chapel, Windsor - one of 29 mourners.

JANE GUILDFORD known to have Protestant sympathies, along with KATHERINE PARR, whom she was lady-in-waiting to; Anne's interrogations centred around her beliefs as well as trying to identify any personal contacts/supporters within the Queen's household (including Jane).
06 Jul 1553 - Death of EDWARD VI; JOHN DUDLEY starts to implement Edward's 'Devise for the Succession'.
09 Jul 1553 - JANE GREY arrives at Syon House, accompanied by MARY DUDLEY; she is met by her parents, husband GUILDFORD DUDLEY, mother-in-law JANE GUILDFORD (who has travelled from Durham House), and members of Privy Council, including father-in-law JOHN DUDLEY.
Jane Grey is informed of death of EDWARD VI and confirmation of the 'Devise' - with encouragement from Dudleys and Greys, accepts Crown of England from Privy Council.
