1536/37 - Birth of JANE GREY, eldest daughter of HENRY GREY and wife FRANCES BRANDON. Exact date unknown estimates range from Oct 1536-May 1537. Place of birth unconfirmed, but likely at Dorset House, London.
Jan 1538 - HENRY GREY turns 21yo, 'comes of age' and into inheritance; family take possession and move into Bradgate Hall.
Feb 1547 - JANE GREY becomes ward of THOMAS SEYMOUR; moves to Seymour Place, Strand, London.
c.May 1547 - THOMAS SEYMOUR marries KATHERINE PARR; JANE GREY starts spending more time at Chelsea Manor, where 'Lady Elizabeth' (later Elizabeth I) is also residing (until May 1548).
Jun 1548 - JANE GREY travels to Sudeley Castle with THOMAS SEYMOUR's and KATHERINE PARR's households.
05 Sep 1548 - KATHERINE PARR dies of childbed fever, 6 days following birth of daughter at Sudeley Castle; JANE GREY in attendance.
07 Sep 1548 - JANE GREY is chief mourner at KATHERINE PARR's funeral at Sudeley Castle.
Mid Sep 1548 - JANE GREY returns to Bradgate Hall from Sudeley.
Sep-Oct 1548 - THOMAS SEYMOUR makes multiple requests (and visits) to Greys/Dorsets, requesting JANE GREY return to his home; parents initially refuse but later agree.
Oct 1548 - JANE GREY returns to Seymour Place, under wardship of THOMAS SEYMOUR,
17 Jan 1549 - THOMAS SEYMOUR arrested at Seymour Place; JANE GREY (and HENRY GREY and Thomas Grey) present at this time; Jane Grey returns to her family.
Jun 1550 - Roger Ascham visits Bradgate Hall, having contact again with JANE GREY (had previous contact in his role as ELIZABETH I's tutor when at Chelsea).
25 May 1553 - JANE GREY marries GUILDFORD DUDLEY at Durham House, Strand, London.
Jun 1553 - EDWARD VI writes 'My devise for the succession', identifying 'L. Jane heires masles"; was later amended to "and her", identifying JANE GREY as heir.
Jun 1553 - JANE GREY moves from Durham Place to Chelsea Manor.
06 Jul 1553 - EDWARD VI dies at Greenwich Palace; JANE GREY recognised as Queen of England by Privy Council (including JOHN DUDLEY and JOHN RUSSELL).
09 Jul 1553 - JANE GREY summoned to Syon House from Chelsea Manor to see Privy Council; is informed of Edward VI's 'devise' and accepts crown of England
10 Jul 1553 - JANE GREY (accompanied by GUILDFORD DUDLEY, JANE GUILDFORD, FRANCES BRANDON and HENRY GREY) travel by boat from Syon House to the Tower of London; Jane Grey is proclaimed Queen of England later that day.
19 Jul 1553 - JANE GREY is deposed as Queen of England, and Mary I declared Queen; Jane is taken into custody in Tower of London.
13 Nov 1553 - JANE GREY, along with GUILDFORD DUDLEY, JOHN DUDLEY, AMBROSE DUDLEY, Henry Dudley and Thomas Cranmer taken to Guildhall, City of London for their trial; all are found guilty of treason, and are sentenced to death.
10 Feb 1554 - HENRY GREY is arrested and taken to Tower of London, following his role in 'Wyatt's FRebllion'; he is later tried at Westminster Hall on 17 Feb 1554, where he is found guilty of treason, and executed on Tower Hill on 23 Feb 1554. This rebellion, including her father's involvement, triggers Jane's execution.
12 Feb 1554 - JANE GREY is executed on Tower Green, within grounds of Tower of London, shortly after the death of GUILDFORD DUDLEY on Tower Hill; both are buried in Chapel of St Peter ad Vincula, within the Tower.
